Japanese artist Ukiyo-e
A book series | School project

A book series about Hiroshige, Japanese artist Ukiyo-e from the Edo period [1779].

Hiroshige was a tour guide who loved to paint the landscapes that he saw. Many times he would create a series from the same landscape he saw.

When designing the covers of the books I tried to imagine how Hiroshige saw the landscapes through his binoculars, and how the landscape changed from one glance to the other.

I created a series of books in Hebrew, that includes all of the artist's works, using minimalistic designing and refined typography.
